FINISHING UP!

Hi guys,

Download this document, which tells you a little more about how to finish off your filming projects. It also gives you the details of your evaluation, and a bit of info about the audience surveys you'll be doing.

You shouold update your Gantt Charts now, filling out the info about your production and evaluation process. If you're going to Buxton next week, make sure that you and your group mates have discussed how to share the work between you. Final deadline is 2 weeks away!

CHECKLIST

Right - it is important that each group goes through the following checklist, as there are quite a few groups with outstanding issues or missing bits and pieces.

1. Are your preliminary tasks (and associated discussion) posted on your main blog? These are an essential part of your coursework.

2. Check that your film brief, similar media works profile and target audience profile are all on your blog. Also, check that you have actually analysed 2 excerpts of films of your genre. Have you talked about the technical codes (camera angles, lighting, music, etc) and how it produces meaning? How is this typical/atypical of the genre?

3. Are your storyboard, shot list, consent letters on your blog?

4. Are all of your docs public? Some people still haven't made theirs public!

5. Are all images you've uploaded readable (ie. not too dark or too light)? All images should be in jpeg or png format - NOT PSD or BMP.

6. It is now time to update your Gantt Charts again. Remember - your films should be completed and uploaded by the 30th - this Friday!

7. How effective is your use of ICT? Are your links all working and clear? Is your use of colours, images, layout etc good, readable and related to your subject matter?

Once you've done this, keep going with your editing.

What to do today....

Hi everyone,

Sorry I forgot to tell you I wasn't going to be there on Friday!

I've written you a short list of things to do...

1. Finish up Gantt Charts
2. Upload them onto your new blogs via the keepandshare website (you'll need to sign up for an account first!).
3. Finish off similar media works presentations. Don't forget to include links to 2 examples of films of your genre and a short analysis of each.

Have a great weekend!

help researching similar media works!

For anyone having problems finding some stats about films, check out Box Office Mojo. It ha box office takings for every Hollywood film, broken downby country (US or worldwise), total gross of just cinema takings, number of screens it showed on, etc etc etc.
The link I gave bove is a link to film takings by genre. If you want to know the most successful buddy comedies of all time, this will help. Also, each film's owner is listed so you can see which films are independent and which are made by huge studios. That's important, isn't it? Not many independent acvtion movies made.... I'll let you reason why.

To do list!

Hello all,
This is a reminder that by Friday you should have completed the following:

1. Finished editing your video.
2. Added any music and sound effects, credited them and saved ownership/copyright information.
3. Gotten permission to publish from anyone in your video
4. Shown me
5. Uploaded the video to Youtube (I have an account if you don't)
Embedded it into your blog
6. Written a brief reflection on your production experience. What went well? What went poorly? What obstacles did you face? What would you do differently next time? What's your most important piece of advice for others doing the same task?

If you are editing your video you must be in the Media Suite. Once your video is on Youtube, you can work from the upstairs 6th form computer room. You must always come to N4 at the start of the lesson, though!

Thanks

Ms Hobbs
